Description
FeatureFax is a fax broadcasting service which allows you to
fax a message to lots of different destinations without taking up
your time or tying up your phone line. You just send the fax once
and FeatureFax sends it on to all the destinations on your list.
FeatureFax automatically re-tries numbers which are busy and can
send to lots of destinations at the same time. All you have to do
is walk away and get on with something else while FeatureFax does
the hard work. When the message has been sent, you get a report so
that you know that all is well.
Flexible features
Every business has different needs, and FeatureFax offers a range
of options to help you target your communications and control your
costs more effectively.
Many customers have told us, and we’re sure you will agree once
you’ve tried it, that FeatureFax is a great idea for your
business.
Extensive database facilities
If you regularly contact the same fax numbers, you will benefit
from storing them on our database. We can handle up to 99 lists of
up to 10,000 destinations for each customer – although we also
welcome much shorter lists! When you want to send a fax, all you
need to do is use the voice prompt menu to choose which of your
lists you wish to send your fax to, and we will transmit the
message on your behalf.
Automatic re-try
We all know the frustration caused by constantly engaged numbers.
FeatureFax will automatically re-try engaged lines up to 7 times
in succession and then send you a report informing you of those
destinations, which your fax failed to reach.
Free and easy access
When you join the FeatureFax service, you will be given a User ID
and PIN number. Once you have an ID and PIN, access to FeatureFax
is both free and easy. Just sent an email to us with or without an attachment and we will deliver it as a fax.
Customers outside the UK can call the Helpdesk for there special
acces number.
Just in time communications
Using e-mail, the service allows you to set the time at which you
want your fax to be delivered. The option of normal or off-peak
delivery is also available for messages submitted by fax.
Delivery reports
You will be sent a standard exception report after the final retry
attempt, to inform you of those faxes, which were not delivered.
In addition, you can request a completely delivery report,
providing aan itemised breakdown of the transmission.
24-hour Help line
Although this is a very simple and user-friendly service, we
anticipate that our customers will have queries from time to time.
The fully trained helpdesk staff are available during office hours
from 08.30 until 17.00 (GMT+1) to answer any queries and to assist you with
using the service. After office hours only very urgent matters
will be routed through the maindesk to the operator on duty.
A personalised message
To personalise your message and ensure that it reaches the
intended recipient in an organisation, you can add a cover page on
your fax or a banner heading on each message.
List management
In order for us to send your messages, you need to give us a list
(or lists) of fax numbers. These are normally sent by e-mail so
that they can be copied electronically and thus avoid any errors.
You can change or update lists at any time by this means. In
addition, the helpdesk will make up to 10 manual list changes
submitted by fax. Larger changes must be submitted electronically.
All changes must be confirmed in writing. Either by fax and/or
e-mail.
Itemised billing details
With your user Id and pincode you can access via a secure
website your itemised billing details showing date, destination,
transmission time and of course, cost.
Value for money
The cost of sending a FeatureFax is determined by the time it
takes to
send each fax. The average fax page takes about 45 seconds to
transmit, but this does vary depending on the amount of black ink
on the page. The tariff sheet provides more detailed information
on the cost per second and the discount bands available.
To make use of the service you will need to set up an account.
There is a small monthly charge for this, £5 exclusive VAT.

Who provides the FeatureFax Service
FeatureFax is a fax broadcasting service which BT has offered
for many years. On the 1st of April 1999, BT outsourced the
operation of this service to another company called BTS (Business
Telecom Solutions). BTS is a division of KVSA (Royal United Ship
Agencies). BTS is based in the Netherlands and has been offering
telecommunications services for more than 30 years.
Although BTS took over the operation of the service, FeatureFax
still remained a BT service. However due to major changes in BT's
business strategy and to improve future customer service, both
parties have agreed that the service will be taken over by BTS
completely as from 1st April 2002. The outgoing fax calls will
still be handled by BT Ignite as at present.
